We’re a ministry team first. Our marriage is for the mission.
Marriage is two people learning to be with God, together.
From the beginning, God said it is not good for us to be alone (Gen 2:18). Marriage is one way he answers that, and friendship, family, and church are others. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken (Eccl 4:12), and the third strand is him. Paul called marriage a picture of Christ and the church (Eph 5:31–32), so every marriage points to a love bigger than itself. Whether your marriage is thriving, hurting, ended, or never began, that love is yours.
Where the Shepherd isJesus did his first sign at a wedding, quietly keeping the celebration going (John 2:1–11).
Pray one short prayer for your spouse today, or for a couple you love.
Lord, how can I love the people closest to me the way you love me?
