The Book Behind This
Skye Jethani’s With: Reimagining the Way You Relate to God.
The five postures at the heart of this almanac come from Skye Jethani’s book With: Reimagining the Way You Relate to God (Thomas Nelson, 2011). Skye is an author, pastor, and co-host of the Holy Post podcast.
In the book, Skye describes four common ways people relate to God, living under, over, from and for him, and shows how each one tries to use God to get something else. Then he describes life with God, where God himself is the goal, through faith, hope and love.
This almanac retells his framework in the language of sheep and Shepherd and applies it to the seasons and to everyday life. The ideas are his; the sheep jokes are mine. If this almanac helps you, read the book.
